CPwin -- Another Morse code practice program CPwin is a program to assist in learning, or practicing, the reception of CW (Morse code). It should function under the current Microsoft Windows versions -- Windows 95, 98, 2000 and XP. It uses the built-in wave sound generation system in Windows to generate its sounds, so it should have good sound output without hardware compatibility issues seen in some other programs. The program is freeware and may be shared in its zipfile form. I believe the voice prompting option in this program is unique and has some advantage especially for making portable sound files. When the option is enabled and the operating mode is either 'Random Letter Groups' or 'Random Grids', after a sequence is sent in CW, a voice prompt of the sequence will be spoken in addition to the text display. Installation: This program is distributed packaged in a zip file. Unzip it into the desired location, preserving the directory structure. After unzipping there should be two subdirectories: qsos and words. The program does not modify the Windows registry nor install any files outside of its own directory tree. To remove the program, just delete the directory structure where it is installed. Operation: Open the folder where the program is installed and click on CPwin (or CPwin.exe) to start it. The program's main screen should open up. Click on the Start button to start generating output using the current settings. To stop the output, click on the same button which has now become the Stop button. Help: Read the CPhelp helpfile or select it from the Help/Help menu option inside the program.
